Hij is geboren een maand nadat zijn vader is overleden en heeft hem dus nooit gekend. Daarmee heeft hij het erg moeilijk gehad. Hij was benieuwd naar zijn afkomst en heeft daar lang naar gezocht. Via de gemeente Woudenberg heeft hij in 1994 nog al wat informatie gekregen. Helaas is het pas in februari 2015 dat zijn dochter Jodi het eerte contact kreeg met een lid van de Familie Organisatie Pater.

The loving patriarch of the Pater family, Edward Pater, passed away quietly on February 10, 2015 in the presence of his children and grandchildren.
Edward Pater was born and raised in a Dutch community in Ripon, California.
He is predeceased by his parents, Elbert and Gertrude Pater, by his five siblings, Jennie, Albert, Gertrude, William and Elsie, and by his former wife Adeline Pater.
Edward is survived by his children, Michael, Greg, Carlyn, Paul and Jody, along with his many grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Edward Pater graduated from Ripon High School. He proudly served in the military and was honorably discharged during WWII.
After the war, he attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He then put his education, work ethic and focused dedication to use with the company Combustion Engineering, where his record of achievement spanned 25 years.
The passions of Ed's life were family, golf and music. The pride and confidence he took to the golf course accompanied him in all his endeavors. He always knew the right grip to take in a given situation, either firm as an oak tree or soft as butter, and adapted himself to the many challenges he faced throughout his life. He could always tell you how to swing: whether it was with high, soaring, gracious encouragement or the blunt force of a low, hard, hook, Ed would counsel those willing to listen as they encountered their own life challenges.
Above all, he was a strong man: a fierce protector, diligent worker and a dedicated provider for his family. Invariably, with club in hand, Ed moved through his life with harmony and pursed life to its fullest: he was loved and cherished by all who knew him.
